Research Interests:
The dynamics of and feedbacks between climate, global carbon cycling and atmospheric CO2, and life, particularly as reflected in the geological records and viewed (darkly) through numerical models.

Current Projects:
Modeling past plankton ecosystem dynamics and evolution; understanding causes and consequences of changing carbon cycle dynamics through the Cenozoic; modeling marine trace metal cycles and understanding the molybdenum isotope proxy; quantifying ocean acidification and marine carbon cycling feedbacks on atmospheric CO2 and climate; assessing tropical coral reef connectivity and impacts of future global change; geoengineering -- impacts of solar radiation management schemes and assessment of carbon dioxide removal proposals.
