Lecturer in Therapeutics and Pharmacy Practice, University of Tasmania

Angus combines his role as a UTAS academic, with work as a clinical pharmacist at the Royal Hobart Hospital and conducts home medicine reviews (HMRs) in Southern Tasmania.

Angus' main interests are in the quality use of medicines for cardiovascular disease, infections and pain.

Angus trained in the UK and started his career in hospital pharmacy, where he undertook his MSc with a study looking at the influence of prescribing guidelines on use of antibiotics within the hospital environment. Prior to emigrating to Australia in 2008, Angus worked for 9 years as an NHS and later Independent Prescribing Advisor, liaising closely with general practitioners to promote evidence-based and cost-effective prescribing.
