NHF Future Leader Fellow, Deakin University

Professor Timperio is a National Heart Foundation of Australia Future Leader Fellowship in Deakin University's Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN). Her research is focused on understanding the range of influences on physical activity, eating behaviours and weight status, particularly among children and adolescents, and over critical life transition periods (e.g., childhood to adolescence, adolescence to young adulthood). She is involved in several longitudinal studies that examine individual, social and built environment influences on behaviour. Professor Timperio's other research interests include how to measure physical activity among children and youth, and the design and evaluation of health promotion and public health interventions.
