Antje Weisheimer

Senior NCAS Research Fellow, University of Oxford

As a Senior Research Fellow of the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) I am part of the Oxford Climate Research Network (OCRN). My interests are mainly model-based weather and climate forecasts and the uncertainties associated with them.

I also hold a joint position as a scientist at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) in Reading where I work on monthly (sub-seasonal) and seasonal forecasts.

I am a Research Fellow at Wolfson College Oxford.

My areas of interest include:

Predictability on sub-seasonal, seasonal to decadal time scales
Assessing model uncertainty in weather and climate forecasts
Seamless prediction of weather and climate

Current projects:

SPECS (Seasonal-to-decadal climate Predictions for the improvements of European Climate Services), EC FP7, work package leader on Addressing Model Inadequacy, cross-cutting theme leader on Dealing with Uncertainty, supervision of Dr. David MacLeod

EUCLEIA (EUropean CLimate and weather Events: Interpretation and Attribution), EC FP7, supervision of Dr. Nathalie Schaller (from June 2014)
