Lecturer in Statistics, Data-Science and Bioinformatics at the University of Barcelona. PhD in Probability and Statistics from the University of Barcelona (Spain), Master in Applied Statistics from the UNE (Spain), postgraduate in Geostatistics and Open-Source Statistical Computing (University of Twente, Netherland) and in Big-Data and Data Science from the University of Barcelona (Spain) and agricultural-engineer. 10+ years experience as researcher in statistics applied to biosciences and clinical research and more than 20 years of profesor at the University of Barcelona. Is PI of BIOST3 research group (Clinical Statistics, Bioinformatics and Computational Biodiversity) at the University of Barcelona (UB). He is assistant professor of Statistics, Data Science and Bioinformatics in the Section of Statistics (Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Statistics) of the University of Barcelona. His research career has mainly focused on different aspects of computational biology and data analysis. In particular, he is working on the study of deep learning algorithms to identify biological organisms and complex patterns of microbiota biodiversity and its responses to natural and non-natural disturbances. His research has resulted in more than 90 publications, including SCI papers, non-SCI papers, books and book chapters. He has given more than 50 talks/posters in national and international conferences. His H-index was 16 at 08/01/2021 in “Google Scholar”. The total number of citations (Google Scholar at 08/02/2021) was 1245. He has been Editor of Prime Archives in Biomedical Sciences.
