Dr. Arvind Ashta is an alumnus of St. Stephen's College (Delhi), IIM Calcutta, Law Centre 2 (Delhi), University of Paris 2 (Panthéon-Assas) and University of Lille 1.
He is a researcher / consultant and has created BHAI (Building Humane Advances and Institutions).
He was professor of Finance at the Burgundy School of Business, Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté in Dijon, France and member of its research center CEREN, EA 7477. He has taught Microfinance as visiting faculty in Brussels, Chicago, New Delhi, Pforzheim and Winterthur, and provided student seminars in Barcelona, Hertfordshire, Kathmandu, Mysore and Nancy.
He is a member of research associations (CERMi, ISEE, RRI) and professional associations (European Microfinance Platform). He has over a hundred publications in international journals. He has edited "Advanced Technologies for Microfinance", co-edited "MIS in Microfinance" and "Slow Management" and authored "Microfinance: Battling a Wicked Problem". He is a member of a club of micro-investors. He is on the editorial boards of International Journal of Consumer Studies, Strategic Change, and FIIB Business Review.
