I am currently working on the COVID-19 pandemic response at the Peter Doherty Institute of Infection and Immunity. I specifically explore the evolutionary dynamics of SARS-CoV-2, including the spread, evolution and transmission dynamics of the virus. I apply evolutionary models, genomics and epidemiological information to answer questions such as: how does SARS-CoV-2 evolve in non-human hosts?
I am working with Dr Sebastian Duchene and the Microbial Diagnostic Unit at the University of Melbourne. My research focus is looking at how zoonotic viruses emerge and adapt in new hosts, and how hosts and viruses co-evolve.
