Lecturer in Development, The Open University

Dr Astrid Jamar is a Lecturer in the Development Policy and Practice Group, The Open University. Since 2006, she has undertaken research in the field of development, peace and conflict studies. Her work focuses on inclusivity, transitional justice, international aid and colonial legacies in the African Great Lakes region. As an associate of the Political Settlement Research Programme, University of Edinburgh, she conducts research on accountability, peace processes, and conflict transformation across 120 countries. She is particularly interested in peacebuilding from anthropological, postcolonial and feminist perspectives, as well as the potential that an anthropology of dreams holds to explore cross-cultural experiences of violence and peace interventions.
