Bahar Aliakbarian

Research associate professor of supply chain management, Michigan State University

I received my Ph.D. degree in Chemical, Material, and Process Engineering from the University of Genoa (Italy) in 2009. From 2009 – 2017 I held positions at the University of Genoa, Harvard-MIT Health Sciences & Technology, and the University of Sydney. My multidisciplinary research experiences focus on the integration of innovative engineering technologies which has led to the formulation of new products with food and biomedical applications. My work has broadened to the development of active and smart packaging for food and pharmaceutical applications. I am particularly interested in the use of smart technologies to track and monitor pharmaceuticals along the supply chain. I have over 80 Peer-Reviewed Articles, 4 Book Chapters, 3 Patents, and over 45 International Conference Presentations.
