Ben Belton holds a joint appointment as Associate Professor of International Development at Michigan State University, USA, and Global Lead, Social and Economic Inclusion at WorldFish, Malaysia. He is a rural sociologist who has worked extensively in South and Southeast Asia, in countries including Myanmar, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Thailand. Ben’s work focusses on the political economy of aquaculture and capture fisheries development, agricultural value chains and food systems, rural economies, livelihoods, and their links to food and nutrition security, poverty, wellbeing, and the environment.
