Bethany Grace Howe

Independent Researcher, Media Studies, University of Oregon

Bethany Grace Howe is a Ph.D. and independent researcher working with the NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists, where she is also a board member. In this capacity she's also worked with numerous media outlets to help inform their transgender coverage, including CNN, Politico and Vox. As a researcher, media specialist, and transgender woman, she works to understand the effect of media-based and interpersonally communicated microaggressions on transgender people. When she's not researching she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Nola, who she calls her "Mini-Me."
