Brent Lyons is the York Research Chair in Stigmatization and Social Identity and an Associate Professor of Organization Studies at the Schulich School of Business, York University in Toronto, Canada. He studies stigma in organizations and how individuals with stigmatized social identities, such as disabled employees and sexual minority employees, navigate work and interpersonal relationships to reduce consequences of stigmatization. His previous research has been published in many top tier outlets including the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. He received his master's and PhD in Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University and has previously been affiliated with the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University.
