Dr Bronwen Neil has been awarded one of the highest honours for achievement in the humanities in Australia with her election as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities. From January 2017 she will be a professor of Ancient History at Macquarie University.

An internationally renowned scholar, she has written and contributed to numerous publications and is a recognised authority on Pope Leo I of Rome, Gregory the Great, Maximus the Confessor and Anastasius the Librarian.
