Bruce Englefield

PhD Student. Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Sydney

I am a PhD student with Professor Paul McGreevy and Doctor Melissa Starling as my supervisors. I ran an animal behaviour consultancy before emigrating to Australia in 2001 to take up ownership of a wildlife park on Tasmania's East Coast. I founded and was CEO of the Devil Island Project set up to help save the Tasmanian Devil. I had the honour to be Tasmanian of the Year in 2008 and Australian of the Year for Tasmania in 2010 for my work on conservation. East Coast Natureworld, my wildlife park, won the Australian Small Business Champions award for tourism in 2010.
