Bryan is an online academic teacher in politics at Swinburne University (Melbourne). His research focuses on the politics of the USA, and is currently undertaking his PhD, examining America's political dynasties and intergenerational success in a democracy. His previous research includes, 'Examining the Political Influence of Alice Roosevelt Longworth' (2010), and 'An Oral History Project with the Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, The Hon. Ken Smith, MLA' (2011). In 2016, he was a presenter and discussant at the IPSA World Congress of Political Science in Poznan, Poland.
