Dr Caleb H Wheeler is a lecturer in law at Cardiff University in Wales where he teaches torts and criminal law. Dr Wheeler’s first book, The Right To Be Present At Trial In International Criminal Law was published by Brill in 2018 and he is currently completing a second book on balancing the goals of international criminal trials. He has authored several articles about the interaction between international criminal law and international human rights law and is particularly interested in how international criminal trials function and protect the rights of their participants.

Prior to getting his PhD, Dr Wheeler qualified as an attorney in the United States and maintained an active litigation practice in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He primarily represented plaintiffs and defendants in first and third party insurance claims but also handled several federal civil rights matters and employment discrimination cases.
