Carla Filomena Duarte da Silva

Carla is an Assistant Professor in Health Studies and Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. She is a social scientist committed to social justice, with an interest in sport and health contexts. Academically and personally, she is interested in the potential of sport to foster positive change regarding the cultural perceptions of social minorities, such as of people living with disabilities. This inclusive and activist perspective is also her focus when teaching about social sciences that apply to sport, physical activity, and health.
