Carli Melo

Carli Melo is a PhD Candidate in Critical Human Geography at York University in the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change. Her dissertation, entitled “Inclusion and exclusion in global production networks: The case of Myanmar migrant seafood processing workers in Thailand,” is funded by a Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and awards from the York Centre for Asian Research. She has extensive experience working with civil society organizations on labour migration and development issues in different parts of the world. She is currently working as a research consultant for the Mekong Migration Network while completing her doctoral studies.
