Carolin Benack is a PhD candidate in English at Duke University. She works on the intersection of fiction and economics. Her dissertation traces economic thought in both novels and economics departments of the late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century United States. She holds a master's degree in North American Studies with concentrations in Literature and Economics from the John F. Kennedy Institute at Freie Universität Berlin.
