Caroline Cheetham

Lecturer and Visiting Fellow in Journalism, University of Salford

My name is Caroline Cheetham and after training as a print journalist and working for regional papers for a decade, I went to the BBC to become a network radio correspondent and producer. I worked for Radio 5 live, Radio 4 and Radio 1 Newsbeat for almost a decade before leaving to establish my own media company in 2009. I now run the School of News, which specialises in media training for corporate clients. We also run not-for-profit TV and radio workshops for young people. I lecture in Journalism at the University of Salford, and I still work as a freelance correspondent for BBC network radio. I have been involved in research into Citizen Journalism and the future of local newspapers.
