Cassandra J. Lowe

Postdoctoral Fellow, The Brain and Mind Institute, Department of Psychology, Western University

I am a CIHR and Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF; BrainsCAN) funded Postdoctoral Fellow at Western University. My research examines the cognitive and neural factors that increase the likelihood individuals will over consume appealing "junk foods" (e.g., chips, chocolate, candy, fast-food meals). More specifically, my research focuses the role the prefrontal cortex plays in regulating general and food reward processes to influence eating behaviours, and the role exercise plays in increasing the regulatory abilities of the prefrontal cortex.
