I am a lecturer in French specialising in the medieval period at St Hilda's College Oxford, where I also work for the Modern Languages Faculty.
My research, including my doctoral thesis, has so far focused on the figure of the fifteenth-century proto-feminist writer Christine de Pizan, on whom I also have several publications. My first book, a popular non-fiction book on Christine's engagement with her contemporary culture and reception by future artists, is due out later this year. I have worked on visual aspects of her manuscripts and investigated her relationship with the artists who illuminated her texts.
Another area of interest for me is all things pilgrimage, which will be the topic of my next research project.
