Chris Milley is an Adjunct Professor in the Marine Affairs Program at Dalhousie University where he has taught Contemporary Issues in Marine Affairs, Indigenous Rights and Resource Management, Stakeholder and Public Engagement/Consultation, and Fisheries Management. His research focus has been on the use of local and indigenous knowledge in marine resource management.
With over 35 years of experience working in cross-cultural environments, Chris has managed more than a hundred resource and environmental management projects in the Caribbean, Atlantic Canada, and more recently across the Canadian Arctic. This work has concentrated on community-based ocean resource management activities that promote sustainable social and economic development including fisheries, transportation, and marine renewable energy projects.
