Associate Professor of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology, Colorado State University

I am a veterinarian and diagnostic virologist, specializing in characterizing the ecology and genetic diversity of an economically important arbovirus that affects livestock (bluetongue virus). My research also focuses on developing novel diagnostics for the veterinary community and utilizing next generation sequencing to monitor and characterize infectious agents. Integrating diagnostic and research interests allows me to quickly adapt/respond to the challenges of emerging infectious diseases and conduct active surveillance projects.
