Christina Biedny

Christina Biedny is a PhD student in the department of Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University (OSU). She has worked from Wall Street to West Africa and gained expertise in areas including structured finance, conservation agriculture, and rural development. As an economist, Christina is interested in rural economic development, with a focus on the role of technology. Her current research looks at the Digital Divide and broadband internet expansion and adoption in the United States. This work strives to help researchers and policy makers efficiently and effectively allocate broadband funding at the national, state and local levels and encourage the use of the internet and other technology to enhance economic outcomes.

Christina earned her B.S. in Political Science and Economics and an M.B.A. in Finance from Hofstra University. After serving in the Peace Corps, she went on to study agricultural economics at Michigan State University and received an M.S. in 2021. She expects to complete her PhD at OSU in May 2023.
