Tenured Scientist (IMB-CSIC, Spain) & Honorary Associate Prof. (SU, UK), Swansea University

I am a Tenured Scientist at the Research Institute of Biodiversity (CSIC-Uniovi-PA, Spain) and an Honorary Associate Professor at Swansea University (United Kingdom). During my PhD (2009, University of Oviedo, Spain) I studied anthropogenic impacts on soils and sediments of estuarine environments but since 2011 I work on research topic I have been always passionate about: wildfires.

My current research focuses on the environmental impacts of all sort of fires, specially on carbon dynamics (pyrogenic carbon), soil propierties and water quality. I also work on fuel characterization for fire behavior modelling, and I am interested in social perceptions of fire
