Danilo Urzedo

PhD candidate, University of Sydney

I am an environmental geographer interested in the interconnections between land-use change and rural development. My research focuses on how community participation and local knowledge drive forces to stop tropical deforestation and upscale landscape restoration. I bridge the natural and social sciences, having previously worked as a community forester with Indigenous peoples and smallholders in the Brazilian Amazon before undertaking a PhD in Human Geography about the governance of landscape restoration.
