Dr. Darryl Sellwood, who obtained his PhD from Flinders University, in 2019, conducting research focusing on the experiences of individuals with Complex Communication Needs in romantic and sexual relationships. Dr. Sellwood, who has complex communication needs himself and use an AAC device. He has a comprehensive perspective to both user and technical aspects due to his background in computer science and telecommunications. Currently employed as a part-time Scholarly Fellow at Flinders University, he contributes to the review of the curriculum in the Disability Studies field. In his post-doctoral research project, he explored the lived experiences of adults with disabilities who receive NDIS support in accommodation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Sellwood recently assumed the role of chairperson at AGOSCI and serves as a research associate with CP-Achieve.
