David Barrell is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences Limited (GNS Science) in Dunedin, New Zealand. His work spans a wide range of geological science topics, including active tectonics, slope and ground instability, and groundwater geology. He has particular interests in geological and geomorphological mapping, with emphasis on using information on landforms to understand the way landscapes have evolved though time, and what that can tell us about past shifts in climate.
