David Clementson (Ph.D., The Ohio State University) is an associate professor in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. He teaches classes in political communcation, deception in politics, crisis communication, and public relations. He conducts experiments which have been published in Journal of Communication, Communication Monographs, Political Psychology, Presidential Studies Quarterly, Journal of Language and Social Psychology, Public Relations Review, Mass Communication and Society, the Journal of Political Marketing, and Communication Studies. Before grad school he worked professionally for nearly a decade in politics and public relations. He was a political campaign manager and strategist for successful Democrats and Republicans, the press secretary and director of communications for state attorneys general, a journalist for newspapers and magazines, and a public relations director.
