Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellow, Harvard University

Dr. David Ljungman, MD PhD, is a Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellow at Harvard Medical School where his research involves global applications of decision analysis, health economic analysis, value based healthcare and standardized outcomes measurement. His primary research interests are surgical systems capacity strengthening, health economy and health care structural analysis as well as translational surgical oncology. His clinical engagement is as a consultant colorectal surgeon and surgical oncologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden, where he also earned his PhD focusing on health economy and pancreatic cancer treatment.
