David Nagib

David A. Nagib is a professor of chemistry and biochemistry at The Ohio State University. He leads a research team of chemists who design and create new ways to harness free radicals. Using catalysts to trap energy from visible light, these radicals can be exploited to invent new types of chemistry. One of the most important applications of this technology is the rapid construction of complex molecular structures like those found in medicines. Multiple pharmaceutical companies have employed these processes in the process of drug discovery. This research is financially supported by private organizations, such as the American Chemical Society, Sloan Foundation, and Eli Lilly, as well as by the public, through the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation.

Professor 
Nagib grew up near Philly. He earned his Ph.D. with Nobel Laureate, David MacMillan, at Princeton University, and was an NIH fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.
