Professor David Sadler is Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students and Education) at the University of Tasmania. He took up this post in 2011 after some six years at the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in the UK where he was Director (Networks) from 2006 to 2011 and previosuly Director of the National Subject Centre for Sociology, Anthroplogy and Politics (CSAP) based at the University of Birmingham. David is a former Dean of Social Science and is a UK National Teaching Fellow for his work on crisis simulations. At the HEA he co-designed and led the JISC/HEA Open Educational Resources program and served on the HEFCE Online Learning Taskforce
