Research Program Leader, Surfaces and Nanosciences, CSIRO

Ms Deborah Lau has been appointed Research Program Leader in Surfaces and Nanosciences at CSIRO Materials Science and Engineering.
Ms Lau has long-standing expertise in developing hyperspectral and chemometric approaches to data analysis of an extensive range of X-ray and spectroscopic techniques.
She is actively engaged in implementing strategies to improve the efficiency of managing and examining large data sets in the areas of high throughput and combinatorial science.
Ms Lau is nationally and internationally recognised for her scientific research in the field of cultural heritage and has an ongoing interest in developing the field of conservation science in Australia.
