Devita is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada. She received her law degree from Universitas Gadjah Mada (S.H.) and Universiteit Leiden (LL.M.). Currently, she is a PhD candidate at Utrecht University, studying the effects of Indonesia's deradicalization program on convicted terrorists' perceptions of the rule of law and democracy. Since joining the Faculty in 2017, Devita has been involved in studies about terrorism, preventing extremism, alternative messaging in preventing radicalization, human rights and extradition, as well as hate speech. Her latest publication is "Hate Speech and the Harm in Indonesian Judicial Decisions."
