Professor Doug Brooks is a Research Professor in Molecular Medicine who has over 30 years of experience in cell biology, immunochemistry and translational research. Professor Brooks heads the Mechanisms in Cell Biology and Disease Research Concentration in Clinical and Health Sciences at the University of South Australia. Current research objectives include: Developing diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for prostate and other cancers and characterising the role of innate immunity in viral infections and cancer biology. Professor Brooks is a Director, Chief Scientific Officer and founding member of Envision Sciences Pty. Ltd., which is developing cancer diagnostic, prognostic and imaging technology for clinical practice. Professor Brooks is also a founding member and Director of Viralok Therapeutics, which is developing a PAN-viral therapeutic for respiratory viruses, including the Flu, COVID-19 and the common cold.
