Director, Community Legal Services at Western Law, Western University

Following my call to the Bar, I was in private practice in London for 20 years in civil litigation, estates, and tax prosecutions. In 2003 I became director of Community Legal Services, the student legal clinic at Western Law. I teach courses in Litigation Practice and an advanced clinical course. Our students handle cases (including trials) in criminal law, landlord and tenant, Small Claims Court, family law, wills and powers of attorney, mediation, immigration, intellectual property, employment, and human rights. We also have an extensive public legal education program. I founded in 2010 the Association for Canadian Clinical Legal Education and served as its first president. I have served on the council of the Canadian Bar Association, and have served as a member of its Access to Justice Committee and its Legal Aid Committee. I have had two papers on legal education published in academic journals.
