Ebrahim Samodien obtained his PhD in Plant Biotechnology at the Institute for Plant Biotechnology, Stellenbosch University. His project involved the use of molecular biology with the aim of genetic manipulation of plants for industrial application.
He has a keen interest in natural medicine and subsequently took up post-doctoral fellowship positions at the Division of Medical Physiology at Stellenbosch University, Tygerberg, before joining the Biomedical Research and Innovation Platform, at the South African Medical Research Council, Cape Town, where he is currently based.
His research has focused on diseases of lifestyle including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular and neurological disorders. Ebrahim's research interest includes the use of plant as natural medicine as well as the use of diet as nutraceuticals for the prevention and treatment of age-related metabolic diseases and for the promotion of health and well-being.
He has published several articles within peer-reviewed scientific journals and is also a self-published author, with his work titled "The Book of the Bees" available on Amazon.
Ebrahim Samodien is also a Life skills coaching practitioner, certified by the South African Board for Peoples Practices.
He believes success is based upon sincerity, integrity, hard work and the favor of God.
