PhD candidate, Flinders University

I am a PhD candidate in Vertebrate Palaeontology, specialising in fossil birds from Australia. My PhD research is on the abundant bird fossils that have been excavated from the Thylacoleo Caves beneath the Nullabor Plain, Western Australia. My interest is in trying to understand how the diversity and distribution of Australian birds has changed during the Quaternary period (the last 2.5 million years), to help us to understand how the modern bird fauna came to be.
