Elizabeth Shadwick

Team Leader, Oceans & Atmosphere, CSIRO

Dr Elizabeth Shadwick is interested in the marine carbon cycle and distinguishing between natural variability and anthropogenic change. She has worked on carbon chemistry and ocean acidification across many environments from the North Atlantic, to the Arctic, to the Southern Ocean. Her work is based on observations, laboratory analyses, and increasingly, on autonomous sensors deployed on moorings. Current projects include the IMOS Southern Ocean Time Series (SOTS), the Australian Antarctic Program Partnership (AAPP) Biogeochemistry project, and a moored CO2-system observatory on the continental shelf of the West Antarctic Peninsula. Elizabeth has an ongoing interest in the changing biogeochemistry of the East Antarctic coastal region.
