Erica Drennan is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Slavic Languages at Columbia University. Her current research focuses on mock trials that were performed in Soviet Russia and émigré communities in the 1920s and 1930s. Her dissertation, "Inconclusive Evidence: Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Nabokov on Trial," reconsiders 19th-century Russian novels in the context of 20th-century mock trials of literary characters.
