PhD Candidate, University of Tasmania

Felicity graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Tasmania in 2007. She completed her pre-registration year in community pharmacy working in both a rural and suburban pharmacy and after registration worked as the Pharmacist in Charge at a Hobart pharmacy. In August 2009, Felicity commenced a Master of Science in Global Health and Public Policy at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Her Master’s thesis was an evaluation of health technology assessment in Australia, particularly focussing on pharmaceutical listing process and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee. After completion of her Master of Science, Felicity won a position with the Department of Health and Ageing in the Pharmaceutical Evaluation Section.

Her role included undertaking Drug Utilisation evaluations of medications listed on the PBS and evaluation of submissions requesting listing on the PBS. Felicity was also appointed as an examiner and validator of oral exams for the Pharmacy Board of Australia in 2011.

Felicity commenced her PhD in 2012 evaluating the use of opioids in Australia. She also continues to work part time for the Department of Health and Ageing’s Pharmaceutical Evaluation Section.
