Francis Nyamnjoh

Professor, Social Anthropology, University of Cape Town

I am Francis B. Nyamnjoh, a nimble-footed African, Born, raised and educated in Cameroon and elsewhere, I am currently working in South Africa. I hold a PhD (1990) from the University of Leicester, UK. I joined the University of Cape Town in August 2009 as Professor of Social Anthropology from the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) in Dakar, Senegal, where I served as Head of Publications from July 2003 to July 2009. I have taught sociology, anthropology and communication studies at universities in Cameroon, Botswana and South Africa, and have researched and written extensively on globalisation, mobility, citizenship and belonging in these countries.
