Since 2011 I have worked as a Systems Agronomist at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia first and then in Harare, Zimbabwe, as a Principal Scientist. I trained as a tropical agronomist, but specialized as a livestock scientist and started my career working for various development programs targeting the interface between people (mainly farmers) and wildlife. I then did a Ph.D. in plant production systems. My research interests include farming system research, sustainable intensification, the impact of agriculture on biodiversity, and participatory innovation development.
