Dr. Friederike Landau is a Berlin- and Vancouver-based urban sociologist and cultural geographer interested in the intersections of political theory, space and artistic activism. Currently, Friederike is conducting a postdoctoral fellowship at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, working on the politics of public art in the neighborhoods of Chinatown and Hogan's Alley. Previously, Friederike has examined the conflictual collaborations between artist advocates and cultural administrators in Berlin, and has published her dissertation "Agonistic Articulations in the ‘Creative’ City – On New Actors and Activism in Berlin’s Cultural Politics" (Routledge, 2019).
