Gareth Ffowc Roberts

Gareth Ffowc Roberts is an Emeritus Professor of Education at Bangor University. He has particular interests in the acquisition of mathematical concepts within bilingual contexts.

Since retiring as Pro Vice-Chancellor at Bangor and Head of its School of Education he has published books on mathematics, including his recent 'Count Us In' (University of Wales Press, 2016), that explore the relationships between mathematics and wider cultural contexts. He also uses puzzles on the radio and through social media as a tool to engage the public with mathematical thinking. He chairs the Editorial Board of 'Scientists of Wales', a series to be published by the University of Wales Press and to be launched in the summer of 2016.
