Gayle Rogers is professor and chair of English at the University of Pittsburgh. He works primarily on the history of ideas, global modernisms, translation theory, comparative literature, critical history, and the intersections of literature, economics, and risk theory. His book, Speculation: A Cultural History from Aristotle to AI, will be published by Columbia University Press in June 2021.
