George Wang is a geriatrician and integrative medicine physician and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His clinical practice and research focus on integrative health and medicine. He is currently exploring the impact of our daily choices on whole-person health, the environment, and human suffering and flourishing.
He is a former recipient of multiple clinical research grants from the National Institutes of Health, the John A. Hartford Foundation, and the American Geriatrics Society. After completing a geriatric medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, he served on the full-time faculty there and directed a research program focused on the immune system in aging. In this work, he was mentored by Dr. Peter C. Doherty, Nobel laureate, who discovered the nature of T-cell mediated immunity. He has a PhD in Clinical Investigation from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a Public Voices Fellow with the OpEd Project.
