I am an evolutionary psychologist, studying the evolution of humour and laughter. I am interested in what make people laugh, how people use humour in social interactions, and especially how humour is used in the mating game. I am also studying people with extreme humor ability such as stand-up comedians and improv artists, as part of my larger interest in creativity and creative people. My approach is largely interdisciplinary, drawn from psychology, anthropology, biology and consumer behaviour, with an emphasis on the evolutionary bases of human behaviours.
