Dr Gunveen Kaur is a Lecturer in Nutritional Sciences, at Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN), School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (SENS), Deakin University. She teaches across the undergraduate and postgraduate nutrition courses in units such as Current Controversies in Nutrition, Diet and Disease and Assessing Food Intake and Activity. She is also a Registered Nutritionist with Nutrition Society of Australia (NSA).
Dr Kaur is involved in areas of research that examine the link between nutrition, metabolism, molecular biology and lifestyle diseases. Her research is particularly focused on understanding the role of an omega-3 fatty acid named Docosapentaenoic acid (DPA) in prevention or management of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
